In 2012, Stephen Collier Architects collaborated with local artist, Kim Connerton, on the Laneway Art Project, as a part of Art and About 2012. Their winning proposal was to wrap the street in reflective gold mylar, to give the effect of gold-leaf. Through the reflection of golden light, the project would transport the audience into an experience of immersive joy, while celebrating the ephemerality of the experience by slowly tarnishing and wearing down throughout the 4 month life of the project.
