Public Square and Underground Carpark

Reus, Spain

Competition Entry

The project used the differences in level across the site as drivers of the design. A large expanse of lawn is shaped as a gently curving dish. This forms the new ‘square’ which peels away from the ground in one corner to overlap the carpark, which is left exposed at the sides to allow in natural light and views. The project is about movement, between the vehicular and pedestrian: the idea was to intertwine these two different ways of moving, experiencing and inhabiting the site.
